Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 large yellow onions sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 8 fresh figs sliced
  • 4 ounces goat cheese crumbled
  • 1/4 cup fresh arugula
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic reduction

Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
  2. 2 Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and season with salt and pepper.
  3. 3 Cook the onions, stirring occasionally, for about 15-20 minutes until they are golden brown and caramelized.
  4. 4 Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  5. 5 Carefully transfer the rolled-out dough onto a piece of parchment paper.
  6. 6 Spread the caramelized onions evenly over the dough, followed by sliced figs and crumbled goat cheese.
  7. 7 Use the parchment paper to transfer the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.
  8. 8 Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.
  9. 9 Remove the pizza from the oven and top with fresh arugula and a drizzle of balsamic reduction.
  10. 10 Slice the pizza and serve immediately.
