Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, beaten egg, 1/4 cup of ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.
Mix well using your hands until all ingredients are evenly combined.
Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf. Spread the remaining 1/4 cup of ketchup on top of the loaf.
Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
While the meatloaf is baking, place the peeled and cubed potatoes into a large pot and cover with water. Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Cook the potatoes until they are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain the water.
Mash the potatoes using a potato masher or fork, then add the warmed milk, melted butter, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
Once the meatloaf is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
