Ingredients

  • 2 medium fresh crabs cleaned
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup rice wine
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 5 cloves garlic sliced
  • 1 inch ginger sliced
  • 2 pieces red chili peppers sliced
  • 1 stalk green onion cut into 1-inch pieces

Instructions

  1. 1 Clean the crabs thoroughly by removing the gills and rinsing under cold water. Cut the crabs into manageable pieces, separating the claws and bodies.
  2. 2 In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, water, rice wine, and sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. 3 Add the sliced garlic, ginger, red chili peppers, and green onion to the soy sauce mixture.
  4. 4 Place the crab pieces into a large container or pot, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
  5. 5 Pour the soy sauce mixture over the crabs, making sure all pieces are submerged. Use a plate to weigh down the crabs if necessary.
  6. 6 Cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours to allow the flavors to fully penetrate the crab meat.
  7. 7 After marinating, remove the crabs from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature before serving.
  8. 8 Serve the marinated crabs with steamed rice and a side of kimchi for a complete Korean meal.
