Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cubed
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. 2 Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour, tapping out any excess.
  3. 3 In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and chopped chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. 4 In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until pale and thick.
  5. 5 Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture gently until combined.
  6. 6 Sift the flour and salt over the chocolate mixture and fold until just combined.
  7. 7 Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.
  8. 8 Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the centers remain soft.
  9. 9 Remove from oven and let the cakes cool for 1 minute before inverting onto dessert plates.
