Ingredients

  • 12 oz angel hair pasta
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1 lemon juice and zest
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves chopped
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter cubed
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • to taste salt and black pepper
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese grated

Instructions

  1. 1 Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the angel hair pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. 2 While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. 3 Add the minced garlic and saute for 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. 4 Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes, and cook for 2-3 minutes until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
  5. 5 Pour in the white wine, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Let it simmer for 2 minutes to reduce slightly.
  6. 6 Stir in the butter cubes and allow them to melt into the sauce, creating a creamy consistency.
  7. 7 Add the chopped basil leaves and toss to combine with the shrimp and sauce.
  8. 8 Drain the pasta and add it directly to the skillet with the shrimp and sauce. Toss everything together to evenly coat the pasta.
  9. 9 Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta before serving.
  10. 10 Serve immediately, garnished with additional basil leaves if desired.
