1 cup glutinous ricesoaked overnight
1 1/2 cups coconut milk
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 whole ripe mangoespeeled and sliced
1 tablespoon sesame seedstoasted
Coconut Sauce
1/2 cup coconut milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1Rinse the glutinous rice several times until the water runs clear, then soak it in water overnight.
2Drain the rice and steam it in a rice cooker or bamboo steamer for 30-40 minutes until tender.
3In a saucepan, combine 1 1/2 cups coconut milk, 1 cup sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, then remove from heat.
4Transfer the cooked rice into a large bowl. Gradually stir in the coconut milk mixture until the rice is well coated. Let it sit for 20-30 minutes to absorb the liquid.
5For the coconut sauce, combine 1/2 cup coconut milk, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a small saucepan. Heat until the sugar dissolves, then set aside.
6To serve, place a portion of the sticky rice on a plate, top with mango slices, and drizzle with the coconut sauce. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds.
