Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. 2 In a large bowl, combine sifted flour, sugar, and salt for the crust. Add chilled butter cubes and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. 3 Gradually add ice water, mixing just until the dough comes together. Form into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  4. 4 Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface and fit it into a 9-inch tart pan. Trim the edges and set aside.
  5. 5 In a bowl, toss the apple slices with sugar and cinnamon until evenly coated. Stir in chopped walnuts and spread the mixture over the prepared crust.
