Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces bone-in pork chops
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme chopped

Apple Cider Reduction

  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Instructions

  1. 1 Season the pork chops with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and chopped fresh thyme on both sides.
  2. 2 In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. 3 Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside. Lower the heat to medium, then add the butter to the skillet.
  4. 4 Pour in the pure maple syrup and let it bubble for a minute, then add the apple cider.
  5. 5 Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning the maple-cider glaze over the top. Continue cooking, occasionally basting, for another 10 minutes or until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  6. 6 For the apple cider reduction, in a separate saucepan, combine apple cider, apple cider vinegar, and honey. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer until the mixture is reduced by half and slightly thickened.
  7. 7 Plate the pork chops and drizzle with the apple cider reduction. Serve immediately.
