Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 racks baby back ribs
  • 1 tablespoon five-spice powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground

Hoisin Glaze

  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce low sodium
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. 2 Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for more tender meat.
  3. 3 Season the ribs on both sides with five-spice powder, salt, and freshly ground black pepper.
  4. 4 Wrap the ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place on a baking sheet. Roast in the oven for 2 hours.
  5. 5 While the ribs are cooking, prepare the hoisin glaze by combining hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil in a bowl. Mix well.
  6. 6 After 2 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and carefully unwrap them.
  7. 7 Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  8. 8 Brush the ribs generously with the hoisin glaze on both sides.
  9. 9 Place the ribs on the grill and cook for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are charred and sticky.
  10. 10 Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing.
