Ingredients
1 poundpaneercubed
1 poundfresh spinachwashed and chopped
2 tablespoonsghee
1 largeonionfinely chopped
3 clovesgarlicminced
1 inchgingergrated
2 teaspoonscumin seeds
2 teaspoonsgaram masala
1 teaspoonturmeric powder
1/2 teaspoonred chili powder
1/2 cupheavy cream
to tastesalt
Instructions
1Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a large pan over medium heat. Add the cubed paneer and fry until golden brown on all sides. Remove the paneer and set aside.
2In the same pan, add the remaining ghee. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter for a few seconds.
3Add the chopped onions and sauté until they are golden brown.
4Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking until the raw smell disappears.
5Add the chopped spinach to the pan and cook until it wilts down completely.
6Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to combine.
7Transfer the mixture to a blender and blend into a smooth paste. Return the paste to the pan.
8Add the garam masala and heavy cream to the spinach mixture, stirring well.
9Gently fold in the fried paneer cubes, ensuring they are well coated with the spinach sauce.
10Simmer the saag paneer on low heat for 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
11Adjust seasoning with additional salt if needed. Serve hot with naan or rice.
