Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 cup onion finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons ginger garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 pound fresh spinach washed and chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 200 grams paneer cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste

Instructions

  1. 1 Heat ghee in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for 30 seconds.
  2. 2 Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
  3. 3 Stir in the ginger garlic paste and cook for another 2 minutes until the raw smell disappears.
  4. 4 Add garam masala, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  5. 5 Add the chopped spinach to the pan and cook until wilted, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. 6 Transfer the mixture to a blender and blend to a smooth puree. Return the puree to the pan.
  7. 7 Stir in the heavy cream and salt. Simmer for 5 minutes on low heat.
  8. 8 Add the cubed paneer to the pan. Gently mix and cook for another 5 minutes until the paneer is heated through.
  9. 9 Adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot with naan or rice.
