Method
- 01In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, mirin, sake, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic together to make the teriyaki sauce.
- 02Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour half of the teriyaki sauce over them. Let them marinate for 10-15 minutes.
- 03Heat the vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- 04Remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing excess sauce to drip off. Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down if using skin-on fillets.
- 05Cook the salmon for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- 06While the salmon is cooking, pour the remaining teriyaki sauce into a small saucepan and simmer over low heat until slightly thickened.
- 07Once the salmon is cooked, brush it with the thickened teriyaki sauce.
- 08Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions over the salmon for garnish.
- 09Serve the salmon hot with steamed rice and vegetables, if desired.
