Ingredients

Pulled Pork

  • 4 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar

Coleslaw

  • 4 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Sandwich Assembly

  • 8 pieces burger buns toasted

Instructions

  1. 1 In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. 2 Rub the spice mixture evenly over the pork shoulder.
  3. 3 Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker and pour the apple cider vinegar and 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce over it.
  4. 4 Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and can be easily shredded with a fork.
  5. 5 While the pork is cooking, prepare the coleslaw by combining cabbage, carrots, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to use.
  6. 6 Once the pork is done, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Discard any excess fat.
  7. 7 Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with the remaining 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce.
  8. 8 To assemble the sandwiches, place a generous portion of pulled pork on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
  9. 9 Top with a scoop of coleslaw and cover with the top half of the bun.
  10. 10 Serve immediately and enjoy your American BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich with Coleslaw.
