Ingredients

  • 1 pound lump crab meat
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 unit egg beaten
  • 1 unit salt
  • 1 unit black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter for frying

Instructions

  1. 1 In a large bowl, gently combine the crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, parsley, beaten egg, salt, and black pepper.
  2. 2 Form the mixture into 8 equal-sized patties, being careful not to compact them too tightly.
  3. 3 Place the formed crab cakes on a baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape during cooking.
  4. 4 Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat until melted and hot.
  5. 5 Carefully add the crab cakes to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and heated through.
  6. 6 Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  7. 7 Serve the crab cakes hot with lemon wedges and your choice of dipping sauce.
