Ingredients
Main Ingredients
4 pieces salmon filletsskin-on or skinless
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons sesame seedstoasted
2 tablespoons green onionssliced
Teriyaki Sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons mirin
2 tablespoons sake
1 tablespoon brown sugarpacked
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 teaspoon minced garlic
Instructions
1In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, mirin, sake, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic together to make the teriyaki sauce.
2Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour half of the teriyaki sauce over them. Let them marinate for 10-15 minutes.
3Heat the vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
4Remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing excess sauce to drip off. Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down if using skin-on fillets.
5Cook the salmon for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
6While the salmon is cooking, pour the remaining teriyaki sauce into a small saucepan and simmer over low heat until slightly thickened.
7Once the salmon is cooked, brush it with the thickened teriyaki sauce.
8Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions over the salmon for garnish.
9Serve the salmon hot with steamed rice and vegetables, if desired.
