Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 fillets salmon skinless
  • 1 pound asparagus trimmed

Bourbon Glaze

  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce low sodium
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated

Instructions

  1. 1 In a small saucepan, combine bourbon, brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. 2 Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the salmon fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. 3 Brush the salmon generously with the bourbon glaze, reserving some for later.
  4. 4 Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  5. 5 While the salmon is baking, prepare the asparagus by steaming them in a steamer basket over boiling water for 4-6 minutes, until tender but still crisp.
  6. 6 Remove the salmon from the oven and brush with the remaining glaze.
  7. 7 Serve the bourbon-glazed salmon hot, alongside the steamed asparagus.
