Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 14 ounces firm tofu drained and pressed
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds toasted
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions

Ginger Soy Dipping Sauce

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2 Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  3. 3 Toss the tofu cubes in cornstarch until evenly coated.
  4. 4 Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Fry the tofu cubes until golden brown on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. 5 Transfer the tofu to the prepared baking sheet and brush with teriyaki sauce.
  6. 6 Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, until the tofu is crispy and the sauce is caramelized.
  7. 7 While the tofu is baking, prepare the dipping sauce by whisking together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sesame oil in a small bowl.
  8. 8 Once the tofu is done, remove from the oven and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
  9. 9 Serve the tofu bites warm with the ginger soy dipping sauce on the side.
